Description
When bacteria attack the soft tissue of the oral cavity of the animal, dental disease occurs. At first there is the development of plague which hardens to becomes tartar and calculus. As the infection progresses it attacks the teeth, the gums and finally the roots. If this goes unchecked bacteria can enter the blood stream and attack the vital organs. The systemic infection, if left untreated can cause death.

Statistical studies show the following:
80% of dogs and 70% of cats have dental disease by the time they reach the age of three. Studies have shown that proper dental care could increase their life by approximately two to five years.

Symptoms
