Tae Bo

Description
Tae Bo is a form of an exercise regimen that combines exercise to music and martial arts movements such as those used in tai kwan do. The name of this exercise is derived from a combination of two words Tae (short for tae kwan do) and bo (short for boxing). It involves moves such as kicking, punching, jabbing, interval training, toning, stretching and balance exercises, all moves that are sure to make you sweat.  It also involves that mind as it focuses with determination to control the body.

Tae Bo or otherwise known as “Kickboxing” has enjoyed increased popularity due to its endorsement by the Hollywood celebrities and its statistical studies showing it to be one of the greatest calorie burning exercises.

General Tips

  •  Beginners must achieve a certain level of fitness before embarking on the rigorous training to Tae Bo (According to the ACE-American Council on Exercise)
  •  Once starting Tae Bo, an individual should take it slow for at least 8 weeks to prevent injury
  •  Exercise no more than three times a week
  •  Be aware that if you make the wrong move or repeatedly stress an area you may cause injury
  •  Though Tae Bo has martial arts movements it is not intended as a defense and should therefore be practiced only for its intent namely body fitness
  •  Be sure to eat a properly nutritious diet
