Description
Teething is a process by which teeth break through the gums in a sequential pattern. Teeth actually develop in the womb but sprout out over a period of time a number of teeth at a time usually in a specific order. The first two teeth to break through are the bottom middle followed by the top middle, then the sides and the back. The last teeth to emerge are the second molars which are located in the top and bottom all the way back of the mouth. It can take years before all of the baby teeth or otherwise known as the milk teeth to come out.
Statistical studies
show the following:
Normally teeth begin to emerge between the ages of 3 months to 9 months. Studies show that the pattern of teething is hereditary imitating what the parents experienced. In general teeth erupt earlier for girls than for boys.
